Purpose
Bridge traditional enterprise IT operations into professional Azure infrastructure support.
Business scenario
A fictional organisation (lab scenario) runs workloads on Azure and needs day-to-day infrastructure support. This lab builds and operates that environment to practise cloud support tasks.
Objectives
- Deploy and manage Azure virtual machines and networking.
- Configure network security groups and access control.
- Apply RBAC for least-privilege administration.
- Set up Azure Monitor alerts and dashboards.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and resource issues.
Environment & scope
- Azure subscription (lab)
- Virtual machines and virtual networks
- NSGs and RBAC assignments
- Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
Interview & discussion questions
- How do NSGs and Azure Firewall differ in what they control?
- How would you design RBAC for a small operations team?
- What metrics and alerts matter most for VM health?
- How would you troubleshoot a VM that is unreachable?
- How does Azure Monitor help connect infrastructure to incidents?
This project is currently marked PLANNED. Implementation details, evidence and documentation will be added here as the build progresses — nothing is shown as complete before it is.
